What We're All About

CU Students have teamed together this year to learn through exploration how to manipulate many different instructional technologies. In time we hope to branch out and share our knowledge with other educators and peers.
We'd like to serve as a resource to our fellow future educators and professors of Education who would like to put that SmartBoard to use in their classroom, or learn how to use podcasts in the classroom as tools for parent involvement or student assessments. The possibilities are endless!

Second Visit to Club 245

November 2, 2007

Today I went to Club 2:45 again and this time I had a very different experience than last time. I was placed in a second grade classroom and I was in there the whole time. There were seven students in the class and I was told before I went in there that they were a wild group. Well that was not an understatement. These kids yelled at each other, threw things, and they would not settle down or listen to their teacher at all. It was very frustrating for me to be in there because I felt like I might be able to do something to help the situation, but at the same time I did not want to be stepping on the toes of the teacher that was already in there. I am hoping that the experience I had in there that was just a class having a bad day, because that classroom was very out of control. I will be asking to go back to the same grade this week so that I can compare this experience to the last one and see if it is a consistent thing, or something that goes on all the time. I will be curious to go back see what it is like next time.

First Visit to Club 245

October 19, 2007

I was a little nervous before I went into Club 2:45 the first time. I was not sure what to expect or what kind of situation I would be put in when I got there. At the same time though I was really excited about getting to work with the kids and see what the program was like. I was disappointed to get there and find out that I was asked to work in the office the whole first day I was there. I did not get to be around any of the children and I did not get a feeling for the program at all. I was just standing by the office for three hours and then I went home. I am hoping for a better experience next time.
